A study done on October 2008 showed that men who had lower levels of vitamin D had a harder time impregnating their woman. This was a startaling find as the researchers were exploring the occurrence of DNA breakup of sperm which is a huge factor in male infertility.

One of the biggest sources of vitamin D comes from…you guessed it…the sun! Vitamin D helps to regulat your calcium and phosphorous levels which in turn create healthy bones. Dr. Anne Clark a fertility specialist drew blood from 800 male patients who were having fertility problems. The blood samples showed that almost one third of the men had lower than normal levels of vitamin D.

Also in many of the men also had higher levels of homocysteine which is an amino acid found in the blood, which is linked with cell toxicity.

In the group of 800 men, the ones that made healthier lifestyle changes and started taking dietary supplements decreased their fertility. Even though vitamin deficiency is also linked in female infertility, the findings in this study with the men came as a complete surprise.

Overall, of the 800 men studied, about 58 percent of them had high levels of DNA fragmentation. Of those 800, 100 of them agreed to stop smoking and decrease their alcohol and caffeine intake. They also agreed to a 3 month weight loss program which included taking dietary supplements, vitamins, and antioxidants.

Of these 100 men who agreed to make these lifestyle changes, 40 percent went on to achieve a clinical pregnancy, with about 11 of that occurring naturally.

Clomifene or Clomiphene or Clomid or Clomifert is a medicine used to treat women with infertility problems. More specifically it stimulates the hormone gonadotropin which helps with the growth and release of a healthy mature egg during ovulation. This medication is primarily used for ovarian stimulation to help with infertility, i.e., polycystic ovary syndrome. You can also find this medication under other names such as Clomiphene citrate, Clomid, Serophene, and Milophene.

Click Here to learn how to treat your infertility naturally!

Women who are having trouble getting pregnant may take Clomifene to help them become pregnant. Studies have shown that about 70% of the women taking this drug were able to ovulate and about 15% to 50% became pregnant.

Before you decide on taking any form of medicine you should always consult with your physician to see if it right for you. There are side effects such as headaches, dizziness, and stomach aches. If you do experience any of these symptoms for a prolong period of time you should seek medical attention immediately.

More serious side effects include vaginal bleeding, mood swings, severe pain in their pelvic region, diarrhea, short of breath, nauseous, swelling in the legs, and chest pain.

If you are pregnant and lose your baby (fetus) before 20 weeks then you had a miscarriage. A Miscarriage is also another form of infertility and is a fertility problem many people tend to overlook. Some possible symptoms of a future miscarriage include:

Don’t wait, learn how you can treat your infertility naturally and start the family you’ve always wanted!

Lower back pain that is sharp or cramping

Abdominal pain that is sharp or cramping

Clot like tissue that passes through your vagina

Bleeding in your vaginal region

Treatments
Once a miscarriage takes place you will want to have the tissue which passed through your vagina evaluated and examined. Once the tissue is examined the doctors will see if the tissue was a normal placenta or a hydatidiform mole. Also, it will be important to see if any pregnancy tissue still remains in your uterus. If there is still tissue that remains in your uterus then doctors will need to keep a close eye on you for about 2 weeks. If this tissue doesn’t exit the body naturally, then surgery or some types of medication may be recommended.

After having a miscarriage women will start to have their regular menstrual cycle. If there is any excess bleeding in their vaginal region then you should get it checked out by your doctor. Women will be able to get pregnant immediately, however it is recommended that you try getting pregnant after one menstrual cycle has passed.

Causes
Usually miscarriages happen because of chromosome problems which are not interconnected to the mother’s or father’s genes. Other problems include:

Infection

Female problem with her reproductive organs

Hormone Imbalances

Body Wide Diseases (uncontrolled diabetes)

Miscarriages are higher in women who are over the age of 35 and women who have had miscarriages in the past. The miscarriage rate drops significantly after the babies heart beat is detected.

Preventing a Miscarriage
It is possible to prevent and treat a miscarriage if it is caused by a systemic disease. If you can detect and treat the disease before getting pregnant then you increase your chances in having a successful pregnancy.

If you get early prenatal care and avoid things such as x rays, alcohol, drugs, caffeine, etc. then you significantly increase your chances in having a successful pregnancy as well.

In the end, if you have any symptoms listed above or vaginal bleeding during your pregnancy you should contact your doctor.

Cure Your Fertility Problems with the Right Dietary and Supplemental Changes

Adult females who are confronted with fertility challenges are frequently told that particular vitamins and dietary modifications can help rejuvenate or repair their hormonal functioning, reduce FSH levels, and help them get pregnant. However, some women try to go on a complete dietary change and cut out certain aspects of their nutrition for a short period of time usually days or weeks. This sometimes includes cutting out processed meats, dairy products, or even taking hefty doses of certain vitamins and minerals, with the thought in the back of their head that this is how to improve their fertility and how to get pregnant.

Don’t wait, learn how you can treat your infertility naturally and start the family you’ve always wanted!

But to make certain that you’re getting the right nutrition you need to do some research and create a healthy dieting plan. To maximize your chances in getting pregnant you need to make sure you balance out your nutritional deficiencies. There are many nutritional supplements which are beneficial to both females and males who are suffering from various fertility problems such as low sperm production and count. With the proper supplements, they can rebalance your certain hormone levels and improve your general health which is the most important aspect when you’re trying to conceive.

While you are researching which supplements to take, you should be careful and always confront your doctor for his judgment and advice. Normally, you should go with supplements which are of higher quality and not a no name or lower quality brand. These supplements usually contain fillers and other ingredients which can harm you in the long run. They also may contain lower dosages than what is recommended.

The National Women’s Health Resource Center released a statement saying that women who are in their late 30’s are usually 30% or more less fertile than they were in their 20’s. And of all infertility cases, about 20% are because of blocked fallopian tubes. Another 40% of all cases dealing with infertility is because of endometriosis. But, in about 85 to 90% of all infertility cases are treated with some sort of surgery or medication such as In Vitro Fertilization and other Assisted Reproductive Technologies.

Don’t wait, learn how you can treat your infertility naturally and start the family you’ve always wanted!

Dr. Robert Edwards and Dr. Patrick Steptoe were the first doctors to perform the In Vitro Fertilization method in 1978. Women who have problems getting pregnant because of their fallopian tubes usually choose IVF treatment. With IVF treatment, doctors combine eggs and sperm manually. After a woman goes through IVF treatment, about two weeks after blood tests will be taken to see if it worked or not. IVF does not take long and you will usually know by the first three weeks or so.

Like any medical procedure there are risks involved. With In Vitro Fertilization it depends on what step. There is no doubt that technology has matured significantly since 1978, and this can be shown through the many successful births that have taken place through IVF treatment. Technological advances such as these gives hope to families looking to start their own families someday.

Don’t wait, learn how you can treat your infertility naturally and start the family you’ve always wanted!

On occasion fertility treatments do not go as planned and most couples need time to recuperate emotionally and physically. There are many thoughts jumping around in your head and questions being asked. Should you try again? Why me?

Don’t wait, learn how you can treat your infertility naturally and start the family you’ve always wanted!

But, if you and your significant other decide to try again your first step should be a stop at the doctor’s office. They can help and diagnose and look for a reason why your infertility treatment didn’t work. It is important to find out the reasons, therefore you’ll have the answers and it won’t happen again. It could have also been something on the other spouse’s side that was over looked. Don’t be another statistic and figure out what is going on. Some recent figures show that about 1 and 9 couples go through having problems on getting pregnant. They want to figure out how to get pregnant but don’t go through the proper steps necessary, and only end up childless.

Many women who are older believe information they have read on the internet and convince themselves that they are too old to get pregnant. They are wrong. Also their emotions are so deep that they actually believe that they won’t get pregnant and in the end they won’t. This is the approach that many woman and men need to avoid. It only brings moral down.

People suffer from infertility, but there is also another epidemic known as secondary infertility. Secondary infertility is when a woman can’t conceive after a year of unprotected sex. This is after she has already had a child. Sometimes it has to do with the male because he is under a lot of stress which decreases the overall quality of his sperm. Finding ways to reduce this stress (such as acupuncture) will increase the chances of conception.

Finding other ways to improve your chances in getting pregnant can be significantly lower in cost than regular infertility treatments. You should always try all the lifestyle changes before going the expensive treatment route. There are many vitamins and supplements that can improve not only your overall health but can also decrease your infertility.

In the end if you have to go the expensive medical procedure route you can always see if your infertility treatments are covered by your medical insurance. If not I believe infertility treatments are tax deductible. You should double check this.

Donors
If you have infertility problems and are looking into finding a donor you might find it hard. Here is a little help on how to choose the right donor for you.

Don’t wait, learn how you can treat your infertility naturally and start the family you’ve always wanted!

Some couples may want to go through an agency which specializes in screening people, and others may want to use a friend’s egg. If you decide to go with an agency you should always look into how the donors are screened. And you may want to ask yourself the question why using a donor is beneficial for you and if it is the best route to take or not.

Surrogacy
Some couples may even decide to choose surrogacy which is a third party process for reproduction. When choosing to go this route, there are many factors you should consider before jumping into surrogacy. You should get an general idea of the gestational surrogacy process and what it entails. Others may want to go through an agency to find a surrogate mother, but others are lucky to find a family member who will help. But, you should outweigh the consequences before choosing to use a surrogate mother from the family.

Surrogacy requires all kinds of different donations. You may be a couple who needs a sperm donor, or an embryo donation. Donating an embryo is another type of infertility treatment which has been very prosperous and favorable with couples. It usually costs less than other forms of artificial reproductive technology (ART) treatments.

Bonding With Your Child After Surrogacy
If you chose to go the surrogacy route, you may worry how well you will bond with your child. It’s very common for mothers to induce lactation, to bond with your child through breastfeeding after a surrogate birth.

Just remember whatever you decide, you should always outweigh the positives and negatives. It may be a difficult time for you and your partner, but in the end all this hard work and research will pay off.

Treating Infertility with Acupuncture
Acupuncture has been used for years along side with other herbal medicines to treat cases of infertility. Acupuncture will not help with things such as endometriosis, tubal adhesions, or pelvic inflammatory disease. Nevertheless, someone suffering from these common fertility problems can benefit from acupuncture because of the possible consequence of improved ovarian and follicular function. It has also been shown that acupuncture can also improve blood flow to the endometrium. This helps to create a thicker and more rich lining.

When Should You Start Acupuncture Treatment?
Couples who choose to go the acupuncture route are usually treated 3-4 months before any methods such as IVF treatment, donor egg treatment, or artificial insemination takes place. During a study in the University of Gothenburg, Stener-Victorin observed that it is better for women to undergo acupuncture treatment before and after embryo transfers. Also through Berkley’s Center for Reproduction, they asserted that woman who have higher success rates in becoming pregnant have undergone a combination of treatments such has acupuncture and additional therapeutic and or medical interventions.

Usually woman who seek acupuncture treatment for fertility problems often stop after 3 months into their pregnancy. It is in this time frame that most miscarriages happen.

Avoiding Certain Acupuncture Points after Artificial Insemination, In Vitro Fertilization, and Donor-Egg Transfers
If you have received any treatment such as artificial insemination, in vitro fertilization treatment, or a donor egg transfer, there are six acupuncture points that should be avoided. These points are:

Gallbladder 21

Stomach 12

Large Intestine 4

Spleen 6

Bladder 60

Bladder 67

All Points in the Lower Abdomen Region

Potential Risks of Acupuncture Treatment
You don’t have to worry, because there isn’t much risk when undergoing acupuncture treatment for infertility. The main risk you have to worry about is avoiding the acupuncture points listed above when you are suspected to be pregnant. Therefore, you should always research acupuncture facilities and seek someone who specializes in treating patients with infertility problems.

Acupuncture is Usually a Licensed Profession
Most states require anyone practicing acupuncture to obtain a license. To make sure you have a licensed acupuncturist you should go to www.nccaom.org.
